Join us for a convening in Paterson, New Jersey, on May 21-22, 2024, as part of the Building Healthier, More Equitable Communities (BHEC) in New Jersey initiative. BHEC is led by Reinvestment Fund with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, supporting cross-sector teams to advance community development priorities that create the neighborhood conditions necessary to improve the social determinants of health and racial equity.
We will learn about the local Paterson history and community development context, and experience local food and culture, while cultivating a peer learning exchange within and across the city team from Asbury Park, Camden, Newark and Paterson. This event is being co-planned by members of the Paterson team including: the Health Coalition of Passaic County, Passaic County Habitat for Humanity, the New Jersey Community Development Corporation, Eva's Village, St. Joseph's Health, the United Way of Passaic County, Oasis, and CUMAC.
Attendees will share successes and challenges, and deepen relationships with each other—through a neighborhood visit through Paterson, expert facilitated discussion, and networking with state and local level leaders.
The first day of the convening will include a neighborhood tour and end with a reception to mingle with peers and enjoy local food. The second day will feature facilitated dialogues and networking, as well as guest speakers.
We hope you will join us! Thank you for being a part of this journey to advance health and racial equity through community and economic development opportunities.
